Jameel Observatory-CREWSnet relies on three mechanisms to disseminate results and make an impact. Find out more about each of these mechanisms below.

Decision support tools

Decision support tools are designed to inform, empower, and help decision-makers engage in proactive adaptation to climate change.

We are developing a geospatial visualization platform (GVP) that will provide intuitive, interactive access to modeling projections produced by Jameel Observatory CREWSnet principal investigators as well as collected physical science and socio-economic data. It allows project contributors to compose and refine visualizations of large datasets tell the story of their results to audiences of varied technical and climate science literacy. These visualizations are tailored to specific users and decision-making themes. The platform is supported by a data hub, which provides a central repository for raw, processed, modeled, and curated data.

Please note: access to the platform and datahub is currently restricted to project contributors, but we plan to launch V1 to the public at the end of 2025. The codebase and documentation will also be made available to the public.

Adaptation Center

A new concept of a virtual “Adaptation Center” brings our scientists together with decision makers in Bangladesh in a 2-way exchange process to ensure buy-in from local and national authorities. The goal is to improve the chances of future implementation of JO-CREWSnet solutions. We are paying special attention to engagement through our Adaptation Center, and tailoring our work to inform the Bangladesh National Adaptation Plan.
